Chiasson records five points in 8-2 win

SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Western Capitals have pushed the Miramichi Timberwolves to the brink of elimination in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) playoffs.

The Capitals won 8-2 on Thursday night to take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Roger Meek Division semifinal series.

Danny Chiasson scored a hat trick and assisted on two others to lead the Capitals with five points. Scott Trask (2-1) and Chris Caissy (1-2) each recorded three points.

Kevin Bailie earned the goaltending win as the Capitals outshot the Timberwolves 46-34.
