Fowler overcame a 3-0 deficit after three ends to defeat P.E.I.’s Nola Murphy from the host Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club 11-6.
Fowler and Pinkney are both 4-0, with Nova Scotia playing Alberta’s Deb Santos (3-1) in tonight’s draw.
Murphy, who was playing her lone game of the day, fell to 0-4.
In other afternoon games, Northern Ontario’s Vicky Barrett trimmed the Northwest Territories’ Ann McKellar-Gillis 11-5, and Saskatchewan’s Cathy Inglis beat British Columbia’s Karen Lepine 8-5.
Men
In men’s afternoon action, New Brunswick’s Wayne Tallon from the Capital Winter Club and Ontario’s Howard Rajala from the Rideau Curling Club won to remain tied for first place. Both rinks are 4-0.
Tallon counted a three-ender and a four-ender in outscoring Alberta’s Wade White 9-7, and Rajala scored three deuces in an 8-5 victory over Newfoundland and Labrador’s Glenn Goss. The other men’s afternoon game had Nova Scotia’s Alan O’Leary defeating the Northwest Territories’ Glen Hudy 8-5.
P.E.I.’s Rod MacDonald is back in action against Northern Ontario’s Bruce Munro in the 7 p.m. draw.
