That’s when the Storm will play their final regular-season game of the 2012-13 National Basketball League of Canada season against the Halifax Rainmen. The start time is listed as 7 p.m.
The Storm (25-14), who has secured the No. 2 seed in the upcoming playoffs, learned Friday night that the Windsor Express will provide the opposition in the best-of-five semifinal series. The Storm will host the first two games of the series – Sunday, March 24, and Tuesday, March 26 – before Games 3 and 4, if necessary, will be played in Windsor.
The Express defeated the Saint John Mill Rats 104-95 on Friday night to secure the No. 3 seed. The fourth-seeded Moncton Miracles and fifth-seeded Mill Rats will meet in the best-of-three quarter-final series, with the winner moving on to face the top-seeded London Lightning in the semifinals.
Prize draws
As part of Fan Appreciation Night, there will be plenty of prize draws along with games, entertainment and lots of fun.
While Halifax (19-20) comes into the game eliminated from the playoffs, it should be an intense affair as the Rainmen have turned into the Storm’s biggest rival during the past two years.
The last time these two teams hooked up, Halifax held the lead into the fourth quarter, only to see the Storm come back for the win to all but put the final nail in the Rainmen's playoff hopes. Halifax will be looking for a measure of revenge Saturday night, so the game should be another good one.
The box office for Saturday night’s game opens at 9 a.m.
Playoff tickets are also on sale now at the Credit Union Place box office, or online.
