TIGNISH – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces edged the Southside Lynx 3-2 in the opening game of the best-of-seven Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League championship series on Friday night.

All of the game’s scoring took place in the second period, with Brett Gaudet (2) and Parker Arsenault denting the twine for the Aces. Rylie Shea, Dillan Arsenault, Charlie Bernard, Slade Handrahan and Jacob LeClair assisted.

Rob Miller (1-1) and Morgan Watts (1-1) countered for the Lynx, who received two assists from Chad Murphy.

Jake Hackett earned the goaltending win over Dylan Garnhum.

Referee Justin DesRoches called a total of six minor penalties – four of those against Tignish. Each team received one 10-minute misconduct.

Game 2 is at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud on Wednesday at 7:10 p.m.
