The Vipers trimmed the Montague Maniacs 7-2 on Wednesday night to wrap up the best-of-seven semifinal series in five games.

The Vipers will now move on to the best-of-seven league final against the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings from Abram-Village. It will be a rematch of last year’s final, which was swept in four games by the Vipers.

Before 245 fans at Community Gardens, Tyler Doyle and Isaac Jay each scored two goals for the Vipers, who received single markers off the sticks of Kyle Doucette (1-1), Tanner McGuigan (1-1) and Brett Hogan. Mitch Gallant (2), Logan Garnhum (2), Mike Ramsay (2), Drew Coulson, Spencer Montgomery, Jordan Mayhew, Adam Wight, Brandon Gallant and Matt Stead added assists.

For the Maniacs, Matt Myers and Aaron Fitzpatrick found the back of the net. Peter MacLeod, Tanner Nicholson and Luke Collings chipped in with helpers.

The Maniacs led 1-0 after the first period, but the Vipers answered back in the middle frame to take a 4-1 advantage into the second intermission.

Logan Reid earned the goaltending win, and Alex Micalef was the goaltender of record for Montague.

Referee Jeff Affleck called five of eight minor penalties against the Vipers. Each team picked up one 10-minute misconduct.
