The Aces outscored the Belfast Sabres 9-6 at the Tignish Credit Union Arena on Friday night to clinch the best-of-seven semifinal set in five games. The Aces now advance to face the Crapaud-based Southside Lynx in the final.
It will mark the Aces’ ninth appearance in the league final in 11 years.
Traven Gaudet’s four goals and one assist led the Aces, who also received goals from Slade Handrahan (2-1), Lucas Matthews (1-1), Ryley Doyle (1-1) and Dillan Arsenault.
Spencer Ross (2-1), Josh Doran (2-1), Nick Penny and Ties Hakkers answered for Belfast.
The Aces led 4-1 after one period, but the teams went into the second intermission tied 6-6.
Winning goaltender was Jake Hackett.
