SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Storm clinched the Atlantic Division title of the National Basketball League of Canada on Friday night.

The Storm defeated the Oshawa Power 105-100 before over 2,000 enthusiastic fans at Eastlink Arena. The win, which also guaranteed the Storm the No. 2 seed and home-court advantage in the semifinals, improved Summerside’s record to 23-14 (won-lost). Oshawa fell to 18-19.

Brandon Robinson poured in a game-high 35 points to lead the Storm, and Omari Johnson also had a big game with a 34-point effort. Johnson added a key three-pointer with 54.2 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring and give the Storm a five-point lead.

Nick Okorie had a big game for the Power as he sank 34 points.

Once again the Storm’s depth played a big role as Summerside’s bench outscored Oshawa’s by 20 points – 49-29.

The Storm is back in action on Sunday, when the Halifax Rainmen visit Eastlink Arena for a 2 p.m. start.
