Chiasson is coming off a seven-point week, which briefly moved him back to the top of the league scoring race with 84 points. Kyle Morrison of the Truro Bearcats pulled even with Chiasson on Sunday night, and he recorded an assist in Truro’s 3-1 win over the Metro Marauders on Tuesday night to move one point in front. Morrison has 33 goals and 52 assists while Chiasson has 33 goals and 51 helpers.
Chiasson scored once in a 4-1 road win over Miramichi on Friday night. Then on Saturday evening, he scored twice and assisted on another in a 4-3 win in Amherst. He repeated that effort, scoring twice and assisting on one more, in earning first-star honours in a 4-3 home-ice win over the Ramblers at Eastlink Arena on Sunday afternoon.
It is the second week in a row a Capital has been recognized as a star of the week. Last week, Caps goaltender Kevin Bailie earned the nod after recording a pair of wins, including a shutout.
