Beran, Micallef lead Rocket in win over Gatineau

GATINEAU, QUE. — Matej Beran scored at 15:24 of the final period as the P.E.I. Rocket edged the Gatineau Olympiques 3-2 Wednesday night in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Ben Duffy and Josh Currie assisted on the goal.

Alex Micallef had two goals for the Rocket (35-22-3-0).

Etienne Boutet and Derek Sheppard scored for the Olympiques (27-30-1-2).

The Rocket led 1-0 after the first period and 2-1 after the second.

Antoine Bibeau faced 24 shots for P.E.I. while Robert Steeves faced 23 for Gatineau.

The Rocket plays in Val-d’Or on Friday and Rouyn-Noranda on Saturday.
