The first-place Aces will host the Belfast Sabres in Game 1 of the best-of-seven semifinal series. The opening faceoff at the Tignish Credit Union Arena is scheduled for 8 p.m.

The Sabres are coming off a first-round win against Morell, and will be looking to take advantage of a rusty Tignish team, which has not played for a couple of weeks after earning a first-round bye.

This series has the potential to be a good one, and there should be no shortage of offence. The Sabres have the top three scorers in the league – Josh Doran, Kurtis MacEwen and Jeremy Godkin – while the Aces counter with Traven Gaudet, Riley Shea and Slade Handrahan, who cracked the league’s top 10 point-getters.

The Aces’ offence will receive a boost as Brett Gaudet will be back for the playoffs along with Ryley Doyle.

Fans can expect a close series as the teams split the six head-to-head meetings in the regular season.

The goaltending tandem of Chase Dyment and Jake Hackett played a key part in the Aces’ surge to first place, and will be a key in this series.

Tignish manager Darlene Hackett reports the Aces will be without Jordan Gaudet and Joel MacIssac due to injuries.
