Falcons force Game 5

In Alberton on Thursday night

CHARLOTTETOWN – The Western Regals and Sherwood Falcons are going to the limit in the best-of-five quarter-final series in the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League.

The Falcons forced a fifth and deciding game with a 6-4 win on Tuesday night. Game 5 is scheduled for the Jacques Cartier Arena in Alberton on Thursday at 8:10 p.m. The home team has won the first four games of the series.

At the Cody Banks Arena, Lucas Holmes had a big Game 4 for the Falcons with five points – two goals and three assists. Connor Smith (1-2), Tanner MacLean (1-1), Brodie MacArthur and Zack Morell rounded out Sherwood’s scoring. Jordan Jewell (2) and Tanner Lund drew helpers.

Brendan Smith (2-1), Brett Doyle (1-1) and Curklan Fraser countered for the Regals. Single helpers were credited to Calvin MacRae, Jordan Arsenault, William Stewart and Ryan McNeill.

The teams were tied 1-1 after the first period, and the Falcons took a 3-2 advantage into the second intermission.

Winning goaltender was Jeremy Ramsay.

Each team was assessed four minor penalties.
