Senior curling championships to resume Monday

Semifinals in afternoon, finals set for evening

SUMMERSIDE – The P.E.I. Curling Association has announced that the Credit Unions of P.E.I. provincial senior curling championships will resume here at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club on Monday afternoon.

The two semifinals will take place at 1 p.m., and the finals are scheduled for 6 p.m.

Blair Jay of the Silver Fox will take on Bill Hope’s combined rink from the Cornwall Curling Club and the Silver Fox in the men’s semifinal.

The women’s semifinal will feature defending champion Shirley Berry and her Cornwall/Silver Fox team taking on Jennifer Scott from the Montague Curling Club.

Rod MacDonald and his unbeaten Charlottetown Curling Complex rink have already qualified for the men’s final, and Nola Murphy of the Silver Fox booked her ticket to the women’s final on Sunday afternoon.
