Danny Chiasson, Colton Parsons and Justin Rasmussen scored first-period goals to account for all of the game’s scoring before 294 fans at the Campbellton Memorial Civic Centre. Rasmussen, Parsons, Michael Crocock, Scott Trask, Craig MacLauchlan and Spencer MacDonald added assists for the Capitals.
The Capitals, who fired 30 shots at Campbellton goaltender Miguel Sullivan, were assessed the game’s only two minor penalties.

The Capitals, who have already clinched the Roger Meek Division regular-season championship, are the overall leaders of the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) at 37-7-2-0 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses). The Tigers, who will miss the playoffs, fell to 12-30-1-2.
The Capitals will now enjoy a 10-day break from game action. The Caps do not play again until two big back-to-back games the weekend of Feb. 23 and 24, when arch-rival Woodstock Slammers and the Yarmouth Mariners, who are tied for the lead in the Eastlink Division, visit Eastlink Arena.
