Steals point in extra end to advance to Brier

CRAPAUD – The Eddie MacKenzie rink will represent P.E.I. at the Tim Hortons Brier in Edmonton from March 2 to 10.

MacKenzie scored a deuce with last-rock advantage in the 10th end to tie the score 6-6, and then stole a single point in the extra end to edge the Rod MacDonald rink in the winner-take-all final of the P.E.I. Tankard provincial men’s curling championship at the Crapaud Community Curling Club on Tuesday. Both finalists curl out of the Charlottetown Curling Club.

Other members of the MacKenzie rink are third stone Anson Carmody, second stone Alex MacFadyen and lead Sean Ledgerwood. Al Ledgerwood coaches the team.

This will be MacKenzie’s third appearance at the Canadian men’s curling championship.
