The Regals finished the regular season 15-11-4 (won-lost-tied), including a 10-3-2 mark over the second half. The Capitals, meanwhile, were 4-22-4 in regular-season play.
At the Jacques Cartier Arena, the teams were tied 1-1 after the first period, and the Capitals took a 2-1 advantage into the second intermission.
Brett Aylward (1-1), Brett Doyle (1-1), Curklan Fraser (1-1), Carson Adams and Jason Gallant provided goals for the Regals. Jake Getson, Jordan Arsenault and Brendan Smith added assists.
Chasse Gallant (2-1), Liam Arsenault-Gallant (1-1) and Spencer Groom answered for the Capitals. Colton Gallant, Brett Arsenault, Owen Arsenault and Brandon Adams picked up helpers.
Winning goaltender was Kelton Ellis, and Blake Arsenault was between the pipes for Summerside.
Aylward was named the Regal Cresting player of the game for the Regals.
