Host Falcons at Community Gardens

KENSINGTON – The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers will once again try to clinch first place in the Island Junior Hockey League on Friday night.

The Vipers will host the Sherwood A&S Scrap Metal Falcons at Community Gardens in a 7:30 start.

The Vipers have lost three straight games, including back-to-back one-goal decisions in their last two outings.

The Vipers have also been hit hard by injuries recently, with Jeremy Jollimore, Adam Wight and captain Mitch Gallant sidelined.

The Falcons defeated the visiting Vipers 3-2 in their last meeting at the Cody Banks Arena on Jan. 30, and need a win to stay in the hunt for top spot and to clinch second place over the red-hot Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings. The Abram-Village-based Red Wings take a six-game winning streak into their regular-season finale against the Montague Maniacs at the Evangeline Recreation Centre on Sunday at 7 p.m.

The Vipers also play at home on Sunday against the Holland College Hurricanes at 7 p.m.
