Kings beat Maroons in opener

P.E.I. Bantam AAA Hockey League Playoffs

MONTAGUE – The Kings County Kings downed the Western Maroons 5-2 in the opening game of the best-of-five quarter-final series in the P.E.I. Irving Oil Bantam AAA Hockey League on Tuesday night.

Hunter MacIntyre (2-1), Blake Jamieson (2-1) and Syl Yoston scored for the Kings. Dallas Farrell (2), Jesse Annear and Conor MacIntyre chipped in with helpers.

For the O’Leary-based Maroons, Colton Chaisson (1-1) and Keaton Horne found the back of the net. Jacob Arsenault added an assist.

Jed Walsh picked up the goaltending win, and Bronson Banks took the loss.

In Tuesday’s other opening games, it was the Summerside Capitals doubling the Pownal Red Devils 4-2, and the Charlottetown Abbies edged the Sherwood Falcons 3-2. No game details are available for those two contests.
