Along with the host team, Summerside Western Capitals, four regional representations will compete for the Canadian junior A hockey championship at Eastlink Arena from May 11 to 19. Summerside is hosting this tournament for a record-setting third time.
Cavendish Farms, through a partnership with the tournament’s host committee, is pleased to provide every minor hockey player in the Summerside and Area Minor Hockey Association a pass to the entire RBC Cup.
“To have Cavendish Farms jump on board and provide every minor hockey player in Summerside the opportunity to see and experience the RBC Cup speaks volumes to the character of their company,” says event chair JP Desrosiers.
Cavendish Farms is part of J.D. Irving Limited - a family-owned organization whose commitment to quality products and services dates back over 130 years. Cavendish Farms is proud of its history of community involvement throughout Prince Edward Island, and in particular with their relationship with the City of Summerside.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to be able to assist the local community host a national hockey championship, and also to provide an opportunity for every child participating in Summerside Minor Hockey to attend these games,” said Wayne McDonald, vice-president of corporate relations. “We know that this will make a real impact in the community by providing these children with the opportunity to attend the tournament. We wish the organizers and the participants all the best as they prepare for the 2013 RBC Cup.”
