Will go for 15th straight win against Woodstock on Sunday

MIRAMICHI, N.B. – The Summerside Western Capitals will look to make it 15 straight wins in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) on Sunday afternoon.

The Capitals will host the Woodstock Slammers at Eastlink Arena in a 2 p.m. start.

The Caps made it 14 straight wins with a 6-3 road victory over the Miramichi Timberwolves on Saturday night.

Danny Chiasson, the league’s leading point-getter, and newcomer Michael Crocock each had three points – one goal and two assists – to lead the Caps, who held period leads of 3-1 and 4-2.

Kevin Bailie turned aside 24 of 27 shots to earn the goaltending win.

The Capitals will take a league-leading 33-6-2-0 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses) record into Sunday’s game. The Slammers are 23-13-2-0.
