With win over Tyne Valley

ABRAM-VILLAGE – Things are getting tight in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League.

P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League

After the North River Flames trimmed the Tyne Valley Clover Farmers 8-2 on Tuesday night, only four points separate the top three teams and there are only six points between the first- and fourth-place teams.

The win improved third-place North River’s record to 16-8-2 (won-lost-overtime losses), good enough for 34 points. The Flames are four points behind the league-leading Southside Lynx (18-5-2) and two back of the second-place Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces (17-6-2).

The Belfast Sabres, who sit in fourth spot, are also right in the middle of things at 15-8-2.

Balanced attack

At the Evangeline Recreation Centre, eight different players scored for the Flames. Overall, 16 players recorded points for the winners.

Cameron MacMurdo (1-2), Keir Campbell (1-2), Brad Power (1-1), Ryan MacGuigan (1-1), Dan MacPhee (1-1), Drew MacInnis, Adam Gallant and Brennan Dalziel dented the twine for North River. Other assists were credited to Brad Vukicevic (2), Max MacDonald, Reed Gallant, Justin Holroyd, Lal Hennessey, Ross MacNeill, Logan LeClair and Jeremy MacAulay.
