The Charlottetown Civic Centre was the site of the Island Junior Hockey League contest.

Taylor Albert’s goal at the seven-minute mark of the second period was all the offence Gallant would require. Jeremy Balderston, who had a goal and two assists, made it 2-0 at 11:54 to send the Red Wings into the second intermission ahead 2-0.

John Ryan Francis added an insurance goal at 10:29 of the third period. TJ Campbell (2) and Jared McRae added assists for the Red Wings, who moved back to .500 at 10-10-1 (won-lost-overtime/shootout loss).

The Red Wings directed 36 shots at Holland College goaltender Dylan McQuaid.

Referee Wayne Doyle called 11 minors, three 10-minute misconducts and one match penalty against the Red Wings. The Hurricanes were whistled for eight minors and three 10-minute misconducts.
