Vipers rout Montague for second game in a row

KENSINGTON – It was quite a weekend for Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers forward Brett Hogan.

Hogan put forth a pair of four-goal performances in leading the Vipers to a pair of lopsided wins over the Montague Maniacs in the Island Junior Hockey League. After the Vipers won 13-1 in Montague on Friday night, Kensington returned home to Community Gardens and romped to a 12-0 victory on Sunday evening behind Logan Reid’s 29-save shutout.

Spencer Montgomery, Rodney MacFadyden, Matt Stead, Brandon Gallant, Mitch Gallant, Jeremy Jollimore, Adam Wight and Isaac Jay rounded out the scoring for the league-leading Vipers.

Kensington jumped out to period leads of 4-0 and 7-0 while firing 44 shots at the Montague goal.

The Vipers will visit the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings at the Evangeline Recreation Centre on Boxing Day. See story on page B3.
