The Capitals visit the Bridgewater Lumberjacks on Friday night, and then make the trek to Yarmouth on Saturday night to face the Mariners.

The Capitals go into this weekend’s action with an 11-point lead atop the Roger Meek Division at 18-4-2-0 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses). The Caps trail the Eastlink Division-leading Truro Bearcats (19-3-0-1) by one point in the race for top spot in the league’s overall standings.

The Capitals will be looking to get back on the winning track after a 3-1 home-ice loss to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers on Sunday. That setback snapped the Capitals’ seven-game winning streak.

The Lumberjacks, who played a very physical game against the Capitals in a 4-2 loss in Summerside on Oct. 14, are 6-18-0-1.

The Caps took the lone meeting of the regular season against the Mariners by a 3-2 score in Summerside on Nov. 18. The Mariners, who are quietly 17-5-1-0, are four points behind the Bearcats.

The Capitals’ next home game is against the Miramichi Timberwolves on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m.
