The National Basketball League of Canada team announced the signing of Ralphy Holmes on Wednesday.

“We’re trying to get him out here as quick as possible (from Anaheim, Calif.),” said Storm head coach Joe Salerno on Thursday afternoon. “I would say tomorrow (Friday) night would probably be unlikely, but we are certainly hoping for Sunday.”

A Philadelphia native, Holmes was a first-team all-star and second-team all-defensive player with the NBL of Canada’s Quebec Kebs last season. Holmes started the season in Columbia.

It was listed on the league website earlier this week that the Storm has signed Omari Johnson, pending clearance.

While the Storm has not offered any comment about Johnson, Salerno, when asked about his status on Thursday, said, “No update on him at this time.”

The Windsor Express will provide the opposition on Friday in a 7 p.m. start, and the Moncton Miracles provide the opposition on Sunday at 2 p.m.
