SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Storm has released six-foot-10 centre Ayodokun Akingbade.

The announcement was made in a media release on Sunday morning.

The Storm, who thanked Akingbade for his contributions to the team this season, could possibly make a further player announcement following Sunday afternoon’s game in Halifax. Eastlink will televise that game live.

In eight regular-season games with the Storm, Akingbade averaged 7.25 points a game. He was a 40-per-cent shooter in field-goal attempts (24/60) and shot 34.5 per cent (10-29) from the free-throw line.
