FREDERICTON – The UPEI Panthers made it a weekend sweep in the New Brunswick capital here on Saturday night.

Jared Gomes’ second goal of the game at 18:10 of the third period gave UPEI an 8-7 victory over the No. 1-ranked team in Canada, the UNB Varsity Reds. The win came a night after the Panthers needed a late third-period goal to tie the game, and then defeated the St. Thomas 4-3 in a shootout in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey action.
