Storm’s McDowell named Player of Week

TORONTO – The National Basketball League of Canada named Summerside Storm’s Stephen McDowell Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 8.

McDowell joins Chris Cayole as Storm players who have received this honour this year.

A 5’11” guard from Tennessee-Chattanooga, McDowell averaged 28.5 points per game in two Summerside contests. He scored 28 points and 10 rebounds in Summerside’s 119-104 victory over Moncton Miracles; and then scored 29 points in a 106-98 road loss to the London Lightning.

The Storm play next at home, Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. facing the Oshawa Power.

    I was really impresssed seeing our new talent on New Years Eve, now he is player of the week after not much more than a week in the league. Good job! I am so glad to have somethng other than hockey to get out and watch! I am not against hockey but some diversity always makes sense. Go Storm!
