Boyles wins at Dundarave

The fall session of the King of Clubs Senior Tour started at the challenging Dundarave Golf Course this week, with 47 senior golfers starting out for the 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Ron Boyles of Fox Meadow continued his winning ways. The winner of the Atlantic Senior Open (Sally Basler) Tournament at Summerside had the best score of the day.  He played steady golf with 17 pars and one bogey over the 18 holes for a 73.

He was closely followed by Ron Garrett of Brudenell with a 75 and Roy Genge of Fox Meadow with a 76.

The low net of the day went to Art Wallace of Brudenell with a 69. He won the tie-breaker over rookie Colin Whitley of Summerside.

The top Super Senior was Frank MacCormack of Summerside with an 82. He was followed by clubmate Ken Gunn who shot an 84.

The next event of the King of Clubs Senior Tour will be at Avondale on Monday, Sept. 13. Senior golfers are reminded about the Cavendish Beach Senior Challenge on Sept. 28 – 30. This three-day event will be played at Eagles Glenn, Green Gables and Glasgow Hills. Contact Nic at 1-866-963-3600 if you want to enter this event.
