OYSTER BED BRIDGE – Oyster Bed Speedway is revving up for the first Endure 100 of the season this Saturday night. The race features amateur drivers entering whatever kind of car they can find that will run. Track officials have been fielding many calls regarding the race and expect a large number of entries.

Track co-owner, Bill Kinney, says, “The race can get quite crazy to say the least. I remember once we actually had all the cars two wide around the entire length of the track. I do not advise missing this race.”

In the past, entries have included compacts, station wagons, trucks and even minivans. It will be a $500 winner-take-all, which could make for an interesting finish.

All regular classes of racing will be featured including the Mini-Outlaw class, which has turned into one of the must-see classes at the speedway. These cars are able to drive wherever they want on the oval including going three wide without wrecking each other.

Defending points champion James Doucette still leads the points race on the strength of six wins. Matt Watson has jumped into second place after a strong weekend that included a pair of wins and a second place finish in the feature. Eldon Doucette rounds out the top three in points. He has five wins on the season.

In the Modified division the pack continues to trail Dylan Gosbee in points. Gosbee will face some adversity for the first time this season after his car was involved in his first wreck of the season last weekend.

Kevin Carr has been strong as of late and will look to continue his climb in the standings. After a wreck nearly totaled his car over a month ago, Randy Millar seems to be back on track. Last weekend he had a win and a pair of seconds.

In the Street-Stock division the lead in points has changed after every weekend so far this season. After a solid performance last weekend, Tyler Gauthier has taken over the lead. He has been very consistent this season finishing in the top three in more than half of his starts including four wins on the season.

Racing gets underway at 7 p.m. with the gates opening at 6 p.m. The CARQUEST Pro-Stock Tour will be making their return to the Speedway July 31.
