SUMMERSIDE -- Canada West and Belarus are tied 1-1 in the first period of Thursday night's quarter-final game at the 2009 World Junior 'A' Hockey Challenge.

Nashville Predators' draft pick Cam Reid opened the scoring for Canada West at 9:34, but 38 seconds later Raman Malinouski pulled Belarus even.

With 8:31 to go in the first period, the shots-on-goal totals are even 4-4.
