...and their reaction says it all: A world record for the most oysters shucked in an hour by a team of 10, that had been held by a team from France for 12 years, now belongs to Team Canada. They set a new standard of 8,840 oysters.

The oysters opened Thursday night in a successful bid to set a new world record will be served up in fried oyster suppers at the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival on Friday and at the festival's Rock the Boat Music Festival on Saturday.
