Smart meters not smart use of tax dollars

Editor,

After reading this article, page A3 Aug. 14 re: new plan for “Smart Meters”, a million dollar expense or more, I am concerned.

I and many other seniors supporting themselves and living in local apartments first thought the windmills might decrease our electric bill.

Now, a scare from city council, councillors we recently elected, who approve a new rating system.

That wee dinner will cost us more and no more ironing, I’d say, sewing machine? Better between 1 and 4 a.m.

We all plan to live on. So be careful when election day rolls around.

Surely, overly rich Summerside government can find better ways to spend millions besides upping power on old seniors and misuse of funds for rock concerts.
