Tourist area upkeep is lacking

Editor,

Gateway Village is walking distance from my residence so today I took a walk to The Village and sat at a public picnic table.

I was never so surprised to see the peeling of paint on these units.

With no exaggeration one can literally take a loose particle of peeling paint and peel-off the whole strip on the tabletop.

I wonder what the tourists think about this, especially when we're in the early part of the season?

Strikes me funny that people working there don’t report this to their superiors.

One doesn’t have to use any imagination, it’s as plain as you’d ever want it to be.

Is there not an inspector at these public places?   How do we make friends and influence tourists?
