Buy drones instead of expensive fighter jets

Editor,

The Conservative government should reconsider the military aircraft purchase of 25 (F-35 fighter) aircraft to five aircraft: two each for Canada’s Atlantic and Pacific coasts and one spare and replace those replacements with the drone aircraft which are now patrolling the borders of Canada and Mexico as well as serving in the Afghanistan war.

Money would be saved because they are cheaper in price and human life wouldn’t be a concern

just in case of an unseen happening, e.g. mechanical failure or shot down.

The USA is the greatest ally Canada could ever hope to have. Whatever we buy is up to Canada but MUST be interoperable with the USA

The US is likely making us buy these. Canada does not speak for Canada. We live on their continent. Manifest destiny, world police, etc.
