Perfect timing for the oil company, but not the customer

Editor,   This morning, 806.4 litres of propane were delivered for my furnace. (Remember propane? It was the one heating fuel which was not exempted from HST in P.E.I.)

This 806.4 litres is by far the largest delivery of propane I have had in 25 years.

I even recently called to ask when I could expect delivery since it had been such a long time from the last one. I was told "in a few days."

Yesterday, Jan. 2, 2014, a price increase of 3.7 cents a litre was announced for propane. That increase amounted to $29.82 of my bill of $757.50.

Was this a carefully planned delay in delivery to take advantage of the price increase? I think so.

I am curious to see if anyone else has similar observations.
