Don't want any more deep-water wells in Bedeque

Editor, In regards to deep-water wells being a bad idea, Ranald MacFarlane is right. My husband and I agree with his comments 100 per cent.

When the cannery, which was here in Central Bedeque, dug three deep-water wells, several wells went dry here in this area, including ours.

We therefore, have our reasons why it isn't a good idea to dig these deep-water wells, and it should be scrapped before it's too late.

We can't live without our water. What would we do, haul it from somewhere else?

It might be a difficult and costly piece of business.

Come on people, speak up - don't just talk aboiut it privately, make your points known.

I do not support deep water wells / anywhere on pei . Bad idea . Most farmers can;t abide by the rules that are in place now . Most people in rural pei can;t even drink their own water due to high nitrates and have to rely on bottle water; Not to mention 2 or 3 major fish kills every summer . I say enough is enough We don;t risk our water supply just to please corporate GREED . I thought we had an environment minister we could contact / but it looks like she was bough off too ?

I agree fully with NO DEEP WATER WELLS!! If these farmers want the water let them order it off island, because that is exactly what we will have to do, if these wells are allowed. They will dry up our home wells, and then it will be up to islanders to ship in water. Get a brain government, and get off your assets and take a good look around! Islanders DO NOT WANT DEEP WATER WELLS!
