The Liberal Ghiz gang and provincial Treasurer Wes Sheridan’s refusal to increase the personal income tax exemption reminds me of the “Grinch that stole Christmas” and seems mean-spirited.
The Canadian Federation of Independent Business and the Canadian Taxpayers Federation have a right to be upset with this provincial Liberal government’s refusal to help low-income Islanders even with this “little” amount of money.
It's also pointed out we are losing a lot of our youth going out West to find work. I certainly believe a lot of these young Islanders and Maritimers will not be coming back here because there isn't much hope for their future here, and it’s shameful.
I believe Sheridan and the rest of the gang should do the right thing and give us Islanders this break. Instead, trying to balance the budget in 2015 seems to be the order of the day to make themselves look good at election time.
I personally don't think we have ever had worse politicians running this province than we do at the present time.
Instead of compassion, goodwill, and kindness for the people who elected them, we seem to be getting the opposite from this gang and it's shameful, really.
