Legacy Mayor Stewart leaves likely won't be a positive one

Editor,
A recent editorial "A city in transition" was right on the money. It could also be entitled "While council slept."

How is it possible that for 15 years council allowed this charade to continue? Regardless of the good things that happened during the reign of the Murphy/Stewart duo, millions of dollars were squandered. The taxpayer still does not have a final accounting.

If this disaster happened in any business enterprise, both men would be history. The mayor is still in City Hall.

The only consolation is that Mr. Stewart's legacy will always be that of an inept administrator who epitomizes the peter principal.

i so agree with you. but the mayor and his side kick owns this city along with a few others, tax payers are just pawns and the council members do as they are told . just think on this small island we have 3 big bullies running it.

I agree with you. It is definitely overdue for a big change. The tax payers of Summerside are getting a rotten deal.
