I believe the NDP would likely make the best federal government of Canada in the 2015-16 election. I like their smart idea of abolishing the Senate once and for all if elected.
It appears quite clear the Senate is only a place for the political elite and their cronies to have a retirement home at our expense anyway.
Another reason I think a federal NDP government would be great is they appear sensitive to the needs and feelings for the status quo.
The two old-line parties, the federal Liberals and Conservatives certainly appear more for big business than for the average citizen. For this reason it looks like we aren't being treated very well by the old-line federal parties.
One other reason it looks like the federal NDP is better is they seem very fair towards seasonal workers on the employment insurance issue in the Atlantic area of high unemployment and few jobs available.
While at the same time Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Conservatives seem to be taking a harsh and almost cruel stance toward seasonal workers in Atlantic Canada. I would be surprised because of his policy on the EI issue, if half of the seasonal workers in this region will qualify for unemployment insurance that did last year.
Meanwhile the Harper Conservatives seems to be able to spend billions of dollars on warships and warplanes in peacetime. What happens to this expensive military hardware in 20 or 30 years? Will it all end up in some scrapyard? I think it will, and what a waste of taxpayers dollars in the long run that will be.
It certainly appears there is only one alternative to these two old-line parties and their thinking and that's the NDP party winning the next federal election.
