The RCMP have identified the two men who were found dead in a home near Montague Wednesday night in what is considered a double homicide.

Herbert Brent McGuigan 68 and 39 year old Brendon Patrick McGuigan.

Herbert Brent McGuigan, 68, and his son Brendon Patrick McGuigan, 39, were found in a home on St. Mary’s Road at around 9:15 p.m.

On Thursday morning the RCMP arrested 46-year-old Alfred Guy Vuozzo who has since been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

In a news release, RCMP Sgt. Leanne Butler said details about the investigation, including any relationships, if any, between the victims and the accused will come out through the court process.

“The P.E.I. RCMP major crime unit is continuing to investigate and will remain on the scene until their work there is completed,” Butler said.

The provincial coroner’s office is conducting autopsies to determine the exact cause of death.

Vuozzo will remain in custody until his next court appearance in Georgetown on Aug. 28.
