SUMMERSIDE - Motorcyclists from across Prince Edward Island will gather on Sunday, Aug. 24 to participate in a memorial ride through Prince County, to celebrate the lives of Yvette Arsenault, Paul MacLean, and others who have lost their lives as a result of motorcycle collisions.
Arsenault and MacLean were active members of P.E.I.’s motorcycle community and this ride, the fourth annual, honours their memory and creates awareness about the need for all motorists to be conscious of motorcycles on the road.
All of the funds gained through registration for this event will go to the Summerside Salvation Army to assist local families in need. The event has raised approximately $10,000 for the Salvation Army since it was first launched in 2011.
All motorcyclists and motorcycles are invited to participate. The cost per motorcycle is $20, and $5 for passengers. Sign in begins at noon on Sunday, Aug. 24 in the Salvation Church Army parking lot, at 299 Pope Avenue in Summerside. The ride begins at 1 p.m. After the ride, there will be free hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks provided by the Salvation Army.
