WELLINGTON – It’s busy days at the Wellington Boys and Girls Club.

The community youth organization expects to service more than 100 members this school year and is already busy planning for its diverse programming.

In the meantime, there’s still more than three weeks of summer camp activities left before back to school, and the staff and students at the centre expect to be busy.

In celebration of National Acadian Day the staff will be helping out during the celebrations at Mill Pond in Wellington today There will be kids activities and a barbeque started at noon/

On Aug. 17 the centre will be sponsoring a free magic show, starting at 2 p.m., at the Vanier Centre, to be followed by the annual rubber duck race.

Activity around the centre itself has also been busy recently with various projects made possible by grants from national and community sources.

A new tire park has been installed almost completely thanks to local volunteers.

Michele MacDonald, executive director of the club, added that it is through these community partnerships that the club continues to grow.

There’s always something that needs to be done, so anyone willing to lend a hand is welcome to contact the club office.

MacDonald can be contacted at 854-3174.
