CHARLOTTETOWN — The voyage is coming to an end.

Thursday, the New Vinland Voyage ends with the arrival of the Be Faithful 2 at the Charlottetown Yacht Club. Estimated time of arrival is 2 p.m.

On July 2, Captain Geoff Ralling started the voyage, from Charlottetown, and since has sailed to L'Anse aux Meadows, at the tip of Newfoundland's Great Northern Peninsula.

This is the site of the archaeological remains of a temporary Norse settlement dating from about 1,000 A.D., and is believed to be the camp of the great Viking explorer, Leif Eriksson.

For more information about the voyage, along with photos and updates, visit the Vinland P.E.I. Facebook page.
