COLEMAN CORNER -- Dale Cameron has seen more than his share of dead fish in recent years.
So, while he is glad the latest fish kill in the province has not occurred on one of the streams he, as coordinator of the Prince County Chapter of Trout Unlimited works on, he’s sorry those events are still happening. A fish kill was reported Sunday on the North River near Cornwall.

The North River is far removed from the Trout River in the Coleman area and the Mill River, two streams from which Cameron and his crews have gathered thousands of dead fish in recent years.

There have been no fish kills reported on those streams this year, Cameron said Monday.

“It was assumed (fish kills) were an ‘Up West’ thing,” Cameron commented. “It’s not just an Up West problem; it can happen anywhere provided all the ingredients are there.”
