ST. LOUIS – A two-vehicle collision along the Union Road in St. Louis Monday afternoon sent the driver of an all-terrain vehicle to hospital with undetermined injuries.

Cst. Matt LeFurgey with West Prince RCMP said the ATV, while attempting to pass a vehicle, collided with a truck hauling a trailer along Rte. 152, shortly after 1 p.m. The ATV operator was taken by ambulance to Prince County Hospital.

The 37-year-old man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. His machine was destroyed.

Neither the truck nor its trailer sustained much damage and no one in the truck was injured.

LeFurgey said alcohol use by the ATV operator is believed to have been a factor in the collision. Police arrested the driver of the ATV at the hospital for impaired driving and obtained blood samples. The investigation is ongoing.
