NORTH GRANVILLE – A young female driver escaped injury, Sunday night, after her vehicle left the Rattenbury Road and rolled over into a ditch.

East Prince RCMP, the New London Fire Department and Island EMS Ambulance Services responded to the call shortly after 10 p.m.

“It was a single vehicle rollover with a young girl driving,” said New London Fire Chief Barry Folland. “No injuries, she was very lucky.”

Folland said the woman was driving a 2010 Honda Civic.

“She lost control and went sideways down into the ditch and just missed a tree,” the fire chief said. “Got out without a scratch.”

Due to the civic holiday on Monday, the East Prince Detachment of the RCMP was closed and no one could be reached for comment about the accident. RCMP Central Dispatch in Charlottetown, when contacted on Monday, said it had no report of the accident on file.
