SUMMERSIDE — One person was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision Sunday evening on Granville Street.

The accident, which is still under investigation by Summerside Police Services, happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Roy Boates Avenue and Granville Street.

The vehicles involved were a 2005 Toyota Matrix and a 1994 Cadillac Deville.

Sgt. Joe Peters wouldn’t comment on the cause of the accident, adding that charges are pending against one of the drivers for failing to stop at the lights.

The driver of the Cadillac had to be removed from his vehicle by emergency personnel and was taken to Prince County Hospital and treated for undetermined injuries. No update on his condition or if he had been released at the time were available from police.
