NORTHPORT --The bait sheds are disappearing from the wharf in Northport.

Member of the Harbour Authority, Romey Fraser, said the rows of attached sheds had fallen into disrepair and some were becoming a safety hazard. He said the board decided to have them removed.

Lennie’s Heavy Equipment has been contracted to remove the two lines of sheds. The line on the main fisheries wharf has already been removed and the ground has been prepped for asphalt.

The row of sheds on the Northport Pier side of the wharf are currently being dismantled. Once everything has been removed that section will be covered with gravel.
