Matthew Good to perform during British Columbia Week at P.E.I. 2014 Celebration Zone

CHARLOTTETOWN — The country’s most western province will be celebrated next week at the P.E.I. 2014 Celebration Zone.

Multi-platinum selling rocker, Matthew Good, will perform on the Atlantic Lottery/Red Shores Main Stage on Aug. 8 during British Columbia Week in the P.E.I. 2014 Celebration Zone. 

Aug. 4 to 10 is British Columbia Week at the zone, located at Charlottetown’s Confederation Landing. 

British Columbia’s vibrant culture and performing arts community will be showcased throughout the week at the free, family-friendly zone, with the highlight being a performance by multi-platinum rocker Matthew Good on the main stage.

“B.C. Week is a great showcase of our province and everything super, natural that British Columbia has to offer," says that province’s Tourism Minister Shirley Bond. "I encourage visitors to and residents of P.E.I. alike to visit the B.C. Week as a first stop on their way to the amazing West Coast.”

British Columbia Week will also include performances by Barney Bentall & The Legendary Hearts, Neil Osborne of 54-40, and Jim Brynes; award-winning chanteuse, Jill Barber; Canadian comedy icons, Double Exposure; Indie artists, Hey Ocean!; synth-rockers, Dear Rouge; award-winning children's entertainers, The Kerplunks; acclaimed gospel singers, The Sojourners; bilingual children's musician and educator, Will Stroet; and power trio, Tiller's Folly.

“We are thrilled to have the province of British Columbia as part of the P.E.I. 2014 celebrations," said P.E.I. 2014 executive director, Penny Walsh McGuire. “It will be a real treat for Islanders and visitors to experience British Columbia's unique and vibrant culture at the P.E.I. 2014 Celebration Zone.”

Visitors to the zone can enjoy British Columbia food products and cuisine throughout the week at the Fathers Pub and Oyster Bar.  



The P.E.I. 2014 Celebration Zone is a free, 70-day cultural festival running between July 1 and Sept. 7.
