Summerside Chrysler Dodge donates vehicle to Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots

SUMMERSIDE — Summmerside Chrysler Dodge has once again lent its support for the annual Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots fundraiser.

Brody Ellis (right), Josh Ellis and Warren Ellis of Summerside Chrysler Dodge, accompanied by “Baby,” have donated a new Jeep Wrangler Sport for the annual Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots fundraiser. Gordon Coffin, president of the Prince County Hospital Foundation, which the fundraiser supports, accepted the keys to vehicle, which will be won by one lucky ticket purchaser.

Warren Ellis and sons Josh and Brody Ellis recently donated a new Jeep Wrangler Sport to the Prince County Hospital Foundation for the upcoming 6th annual hospital fundraiser.

Warren Ellis, the founder, organizer and financial supporter of this community event, has raised more than $1.3 million in cash and pledges over the past five years for the Prince County Foundation.

All money raised from Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots is used to purchase medical equipment for the Prince County Hospital, a cause near and dear to the Ellis family.

This year, the event, usually attended by more than 1,000 people annually, will be heightened by a chance to win the new Jeep Wrangler Sport donated by Summerside Chrysler Dodge.

In addition, the Jeep draw and a portion of the fundraiser will air live on Eastlink TV from 7 to 9 p.m. on the event’s date, which is Sept. 6.

As part of the telecast, groups, businesses and individuals who have been raising funds for PCH will have an opportunity to present their donation and to challenge others to do the same by calling in their donations live on Eastlink TV.

The 6th Annual Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots fundraiser takes place in Eastlink Arena at Credit Union Place on Saturday, Sept. 6, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Tickets are $100 and include dinner, entertainment, and a chance to win the Jeep Wrangler Sport. Group and individual tickets can be purchased by contacting Warren Ellis at 902-853-7160.
